Submissions

Thank you for visiting this section of our site. We're glad you have an interest in submitting to Pleasant St. Press. At this time, we are accepting picture book manuscripts only. We are open to all story lines, including themed stories regarding various holidays. As we expand, we anticipate our genre of books will grow along with us. Please check back on this site for updates to our submission guidelines.

WRITERS:

1. Include a cover letter with your name, address, and pertinent contact information.
2. Include title and word count at the top of the first page of your manuscript.
3. Kindly make us aware of your previous publications, if any.
4. We do accept manuscripts written in rhyme -- but PLEASE have your work professionally critiqued for meter before submitting.
5. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but kindly inform us in your cover letter.
6. If we choose not to publish your work and you wish for your manuscript to be returned, do enclose an SASE. Otherwise, your materials will be recycled.
7. For picture book manuscripts larger than 800 words, please query first.

ILLUSTRATORS:

Please send resume, cover letter, and samples by regular mail only. We are seeking a myriad of styles, but please no photography.  Also, please be sure your artwork is suited for children's picture books! Materials will be kept on file, so please do not send originals.
